Misuse of tenancy agreement

We recently found out that our former tenant, who left us about two weeks ago, used our tenancy agreement document to apply for a loan. How can we prevent this from happening with ex-tenants?

The Residential Tenancies Act, generally applies to all residential tenancies, and the relationship between a landlord and tenant. It does not apply to any situation involving a third party outside of this relationship. Furthermore, as this situation applies after the tenancy has ended, it is recommended that you seek independent legal advice to determine what options are available to you.
Alternatively, you may wish to include reference to future use of the tenancy agreement in your final inspection process when your tenancies come to an end.
